Zazu flew clear across the different landscapes, searching far and wide for Ahadi's allies. He began west toward Busara's pride. He knew these specific prides because many of the leaders would come to a neutral territory to discuss negotiations on territories, policies and rules, as well as exchange advise for one another to develop their leadership skills. Busara being Sarabi's father was Zazu's first choice to turn to, for although he maintained a long distance relationship with his daughter, he still felt a concern for her and would especially so for her unborn cub. It would be a whole day's journey before he would arrive there in this foreign pride. Busara and his mate Rena, who left the pride lands after Sarabi was an adult to join Busara's pride whole heartedly agreed to help Ahadi. Both lions were old friends of the pride lands wanting to protect the safety of their daughter, bringing willing members of his pride with him. Afterwards, Zazu flew north to the mountains, meeting other prides along the way allied with Ahadi, many lions answered the call, even those who didn't know of the pride lands before hand answered, for the news of the war spread like wildfire. Very soon many lions were making the march, for they were all tired of the way hyenas thought they could do anything and lay great lands to ruin with their ignorance of the great balance of the circle of life. The lions felt a calling from the great Kings to protect this balance. It was their destiny, from the most royal of lions to the roughest of rogues. Ahadi never expected that so many lions would answer the call, and was very thankful for the Zazu's swiftness to get the word around. When the lions gathered around pride rock, Ahadi let out a mighty roar, looking down at the multitude of prides that had gathered before him.

"I thank you all for coming." He began. "Those treacherous poachers have hurt us for the last time! They steal our food when our lionesses work hard to feed our prides. They kill our children, they lay waste to the land and make lush jungles into barren wastelands. They are murders, liars and thieves. They are a scourge upon the circle of life and have no place within it. Like a virus they spread consuming everything in their path leaving no room for anyone. They…they even took the life of my mother…and now they have taken my beloved son Taka. We stand today to fight. We gather together because their strength is in numbers. Once we drive them out of the pride lands, we must drive them all out of our lands forever. Without them, we can finally have peace without bloodshed. Who's with me!?"
Loud roars of agreement echoed through the pride lands. Ahadi never bothered to take out the hyenas before because they were outnumbered, but thanks to his relationships in the past with other Kingdoms, they were able to gather an army together.
As Ahadi smiled he looked from lion to lion, males and females ready and willing to lay down their lives for this cause, there was one in particular who stood out before him.
'Could…could it be…?' He thought.
"What is it Ahadi?" Uru said standing next to him.
"I…" He couldn't finish, as the lion he had dead locked his eyes on started to blend into the crowd. "Wait here Uru…" Ahadi quickly bounded down the side of pride rock going through the crowd of lions. They looked confused at his sudden action, and all were ready and anxious to begin the march to the elephant grave yard. He bounded about searching each lion, and then noticed a familiar tail pattern disappear around the cave that his son had often laid down to rest in many times.
And there he stood. Old, decrepit and weak, but there. After all those years, despite his mane and fur turning silver with age, he turned his shaggy head with his dark almost black mane and bright blue eyes outlined by a violet shadow. He stood there with his glum look, and his beard. Ahadi's jaw dropped at the sight of this lion, whom his own son Taka so much resembled.
"F-Father…? Is it…really you…?" He couldn't fight the tears that started to come down his face. "You…you came back….after all these years….but…but why…? Why now?"
Hata sighed, looking at his son. "Ahadi…" He started, not quite sure what to say. The old lion was never one for words. A young lioness, looking only a couple of seasons older than Mufasa stood behind him. She resembled Hata almost exactly except she had a more pridelander-ish nose that was black like Uru's and she had a more gentle, feminine façade about her, and another, with them had that same black nose and a stronger body type, but a lighter grey and harsh looking cold blue eyes.
"Father." She said. "I can explain If you'd like."
Ahadi's eyes were widened. 'Father? Who is this lioness…?'
"Well let's get this over with…" The gray lioness said reluctantly.
"Mother please…we're guests…let's try and be polite to my half brother…"
"I suppose." She said rolling her eyes.
"Tamani." Hata said looking at the gray lioness. "Hatama's right." He looked at Ahadi. "We are guests here, and my son is the King. But it's alright. I will explain to Ahadi what has happened, and why we are here."
"I…" Ahadi sighed. Seeing his father again after so many years he had many mixed emotions. "…Why did you leave father…and why after so many years have you come back…?
Hata sat down, looking down. "…My son…I never wanted to hurt you…but I saw how happy you were in the pride lands…and I well…I just couldn't live there anymore. If I didn't leave, I simply would've jeopardized your ability to stay. Look at you now, you've grown into a strong and wise King. But I…I will always be a rogue…I couldn't have taken care of you on my own. You might have been dead by now if you would've gone with me…if not for Tamani my mate…I might have been dead myself."
"So this is your mate and…this is…"
"My daughter…Hatama and your half sister. I loved your mother, but she has gone. I've accepted that, and never planned on having another mate. But Tamani…" He smiled, which was something rare that he hardly ever did. "She's something special. When Hatama was born…I decided I would try to be a better father to her than I was to you…"
"Yeah well..what about me…? You left me alone!"
"…Yes…you do have every right to be angry with me…but Ahadi you must understand…I was only looking out for your own well being…the pride lands were better for you…Mohatu and Hazina I knew would be better parents for you…tell me…would you have wanted me to stay…I did try but I simply knew I would never feel like I belonged there…my son…never a day went by that I didn't think about you…or your mother…"
"Then why didn't you ever come back father…?"
"…I was afraid of your reaction….but I came back now because I had heard of the war…and… Hatama…wanted to help."
"Father never talked about you up until now…he and mother agreed not to tell me about you…" She looked down. "Mother was a rogue, an outcast from another pride. "I always wanted to meet other lions but…they kind of sheltered me in that respect. They believed they found each other for a reason…two lonely rogues out in the middle of no where. Actually I think their story is a bit romantic." She chimed in. "Neither of them trusted other prides and found that in common. Then this pride of white lions came into our territory from the northern mountains. When I asked why they were passing through, they told us about the war, and the King losing his son. Then, father finally told me about you. Mother wasn't too happy about it though." She chuckled a bit.
"But you cared for her…and not for me…" Ahadi sighed.
"I want to make that up for you now Ahadi. Let me fight for you son. Hyenas took him like they took your mother."
"Hata you are getting old." Tamani said. "I still think it's foolish to have come here." Tamani looked around nervously at all the other prides.
"Maybe for you. But Ahadi is still my son, and I grow old. In my heart, I wanted to see him one last time before I die. Please my son, will you forgive me."
Ahadi sighed. "Father…yes…I forgive you…." He sobbed putting his head on Hata's, who wrapped his paws around in an embrace. "But I will agree with your mate. You shouldn't need to fight. You've seen many battles already."
The two lions looked to each other, and to their daughter.
"I hope you will allow me to fight Ahadi." Hatama said. "I was kind of hurt that father and mother never told me about you…but…I'm glad I have a big brother." She smiled warmly. "I hope you will accept me as part of your family Ahadi."
Ahadi couldn't help but smile. "Of course I will." He wondered how Hatama could be so gentle for a rogue, especially the way his father and her mother had raised her. But then again he was gentle himself for a rogue, but he always figured he'd simply taken after his mother. "Come…as my father you and your mate are part of the royal family now…I want you to meet my family…my son and his mate."

Meanwhile, in the elephant grave yard, the lions weren't the only ones mobilizing for war. Gojo stood atop the great pillar looking down upon her hyena brethren.
"Lions have hurt us for the last time. Right before us is the pride lands, beautiful bountiful. It is all a mockery to us! I wanted us to leave, but now the other lions have assembled together. I have heard rumors all throughout the land of a war. All for what? For a son that wanted to seek revenge on his own kind, and use us for his own selfish purposes. The lions think we are the idiots!? But look around you! It is we who are surrounded by idiocy and ignorance! If it weren't for the lions we would be calling the shots! The animals would all have to listen to us! Now, already I have found several other clans who have sided with us. We'll eliminate the lions once and for all!!! If it's a war they want, it's a war they will get!!! Then we'll have freedom once they are gone…no more lions…freedom for all hyenas now and forever!!!!"
Cheers and chuckles could be heard echoing throughout the caverns. Looking on from a distance was Shenzi who stood alone. She had lead Gojo to believe that her and her brothers were gone into the desert. But she knew that she was the true clan leader, not this usurper. She let out a low growl but careful not to let anyone see her. A small handful of hyenas had followed her.
'You're going to pay for what you have done to mother.' Shenzi thought to herself bitterly. 'I don't care that Scar was a lion. He was our friend…our brother. Mother always said this lion was the key to our future. But you have ruined everything Gojo. You destroyed my family. I hope the stinky lions destroy yours.' Shenzi walked off to meet with the clan. The elephant grave yard bordered part of the outlands, which surrounded part of the pride lands and the desert. It was the outlands that Shenzi and the remaining hyenas who were loyal to her family had run off to.
"There you are! Where've you been!?" Banzai exclaimed.
"Shhh..c'mon…I'll explain in a moment…" The two hyenas ran back seeing a small number, perhaps twenty or so hyenas who had stayed loyal to Shenzi after the coup.
They saw Ed gnawing on a bone and then looked up with his tongue sticking out in his usual idiotic fashion.
"Alright so what's the deal Shenzi…? What were you doing over there…"
"The lions are getting ready to go to war with the hyenas. There's tons of those stinky lions!" Her fur ruffled up. "Just makes me shudder thinking about it..."
Ed busted out laughing as Shenzi's fur ruffled up.
"So what are we gonna do about it…?" Banzai asked looking cock-eyed at her.
"Nothing. We lay low for now. Gojo thinks we ran off and perished in the desert. With any luck…both sides will weaken each other…and then we'll go in and pick them off one by one….they won't know what hit'em…"
"Hehehe…great idea Shenzi…uhhh…why didn't I think of it…?"
"Oh…I don't know…maybe it's because you're a moron!?"
"What!? HEY!?" He growled.
"HEHEHEHE!!!!"
"SHUT UP ED!"
"HAHAHA OUF!" Bonzai was annoyed with his constant laughing and pounced him. Shenzi sighed. 'Why do I hang out with these two…?'

In the pride lands deep in the caves of pride rock, mothers Sarabi and Sarafina smiled at their newborn cubs. Little Nala was curled up contentedly next to her mother, while the little cub that Sarabi and Mufasa had adopted from Scar and Zira were curled up next to little Simba sleeping contentedly, their ages were only about couple of weeks apart.
"Isn't it sweet? It's as though Simba has a sister to play with. Little Azra might not be of my own blood, but I love her just the same as my Simba. To me they are both my beloved cubs."
"I'm curious Sarabi, where did you come up with Azra's name?"
"Well…Mufasa came up with it actually. He said…Taka had come to him as a cub in a dream and told him what her name should be…I wonder if that's what they really would've named her?"
"That's interesting. But I guess we'll never know. Both your cubs are very beautiful Sarabi."
"As is yours my friend. And who knows, maybe one day our cubs will be mates."
Sarafina let out a laugh. "Oh Sarabi. Don't you know it was always mothers dream to see one of her own become betrothed to the royal family? But it doesn't matter to me if my daughter was betrothed to royalty or not. Though I do like the idea of her mate being the child of my best friend's."
"You're right about that. There's been so much tragedy…maybe if she sees our cubs become mates it can heal the rift in our families one day…"
"I hope so…but I don't know…" Sarafina said gently licking little Nala's fur. "My mother hasn't been the same since Riku died…and I don't trust that pride she's with now…"

"Neither do I." A strong golden lion came in after them. Sarafina recognized him at once and beamed.
"Upendo! You found me!"
"Of course I did my love. I came to answer the call. I heard about the war, so I decided to come and help."
"So this is the father of your cub, what a pleasure to meet you. Welcome to the pride lands."
"Pleasure's all mine." The light golden lion beamed. "I hope that the King will let me stay here, I want to be able to see my cub grow up and help with the cause."
Ahadi stepped into the cave with Uru. "Ah you must be Sarafina's mate. Of course you can stay." He looked back with Hata, Hatama and Tamani with them. "Father this is Sarafina and Sarabi. Sarabi is the mother of my grandson, and she has agreed to raise my granddaughter with my son Mufasa."
Tamani, though rough around the edges couldn't help but smile. She nudged Hata a bit. "The gray one has the family resemblence." She smirked.
"That she does." Hata replied.
"They're absolutely adorable." Hatama beamed. "I'm proud to be a great aunt."
"What's all the commotion?" Mufasa and Uru had both stepped into the cave.
"Mufasa." Ahadi said. "This is your grandfather, Hata, his mate Tamani and your aunt Hatama."
"My…grandfather…? But I thought…?" He smiled. "It seems if one thing good has come of this tragedy…it's that we are all reuniting together with our families."
More lions poured into the cave, Busara and Rena couldn't wait to see their grandbaby. Upendo was pleased to see his cub was a little girl, giving her an affectionate lick.
And little Azra curled up next to Simba, both cubs all would call a blessing.
"Simba's presentation ceremony will be soon, but we want to wait until we take care of the Hyenas." Mufasa said. "I do hope you'll be here for that before you all leave again." He turned to Upendo. "Of course, you can stay to help raise your daughter. We won't mind. We could always use more help patrolling the borders."
"I'd do my best sir." Upendo bowed.

The following dawn, the lions were split into two groups. One group would lead the frontal assault against the hyenas, the other would stay behind to guard the lionesses with cubs and elderly lions. Ahadi and Mufasa lead the lions into battle. Like a wave of brownish gold lions and lionesses marched into battle. At the edge of the elephant graveyard, swarms of Hyenas met them at the border. Ahadi narrowed his eyes, letting out a roar as the two waves clashed with one another, fighting tooth and claw. While the lions slashed with their paws, hyenas attacked fangs bared and ready. Blood would be spilled on both sides, the ripping and tearing of flesh became an all apparent. Eventually both sides would tire of the fighting, but the war would continue for many seasons after a series of clashes and retreats by the hyenas and the lions. Both sides gave it their all, but neither side fully retreated, until Gojo began to realize how rapidly her own numbers were dropping. Lions had not only more on their side now, but they were stronger pound for pound, and with the bountiful pride lands they were stronger yet. It angered her how they were losing against the lions, but it seemed there was nothing else that could be done. If they didn't retreat now, the lions would exterminate them forever.
"Retreat!" Gojo cried out. "We can't let these lions harm us anymore!"
"Gojo…" Khajii growled. "What about having control…and freedom…?"
Gojo sighed. "Those wretched lions have won for now…we gathered other clans to help us…but unlike the lions we are scattered…they kept us apart so that there aren't many other clans to reach out to…but one day Khajii…we will meet other clans…then we will outnumber the lions…but for now we must move on. It is nightfall, they sleep now. We should try to escape…"
It wasn't long before Khajii and Gojo started to gather what was left of the clan after the battle, and begin to leave the elephant grave yard in search of a new home. For years the clan stayed because the pride lands were right in front of them, but they were unable to cross over. Gojo wanted peace, away from lions, but she was going to do anything necessary to attain that peace, including kill those who were in her way. Reluctantly, she and the clan left, feeling defeated that they couldn't push past the other lions.
But as they made their journey, the sound of laughter echoed through the caverns.
"What was that…?" Gojo asked looking around narrowing her eyes.

"Oh you know very well who it is Gojo…"

The bright yellow eyes seemed to glow dimly in the cave starring right in the heart of Gojo's own blue eyes. It was her, the hyena she had thought were dead after being outcast.

"Shenzi." Gojo said in a low bitter tone.

"That's my name. Just don't wear it out." Shenzi sneered. "I'll never forget what you have done to mother. I have come to take back the clan from your clutches." She let out a low growl narrowing her eyes at the other hyena.

"No." Gojo said. "The clan is mine now Shenzi, you're just an outcast!"

"Oh really?" She laughed. "But is your clan in any condition to fight after tangling with those stinky lions? I think not."

Suddenly Gojo turned hearing a yelp as one of her hyenas fell. Hidden in the darkness of the shadows were Shenzi's clan, who one by one started to emerge from the cracks of the caverns like a shadow, taking and picking off the hyenas who followed Gojo, striking before they could even be seen. When they realized they had been caught, it was already too late and the blood spilled to the ground with only a second to let out a scream or a yelp.

"Call them off!" Gojo demanded. "NOW!"

"Oh no no no. You said WE were the OUTCASTS!" Shenzi said mockingly. Several more hyenas were cast down because of Shenzi's guerilla tactics. She may have had less hyenas, but she had coordinated them to attack from the shadows, and nearly all of Gojo's hyenas were exhausted and injured from the war. "So…what's it going to be Gojo?" Shenzi smiled cruelly. Her revenge against Gojo and the betrayal of the clan was nearly complete. The war was dumb luck to her, and she knew killing Scar would spark such a war. Gojo's eyes were wide with shock as she saw the hyenas fall. Her jaw dropped looking everywhere, wondering if they were going to take her next. She narrowed her eyes looking at Shenzi, making a low growl.

"CALL THEM OFF!" She demanded again, this time with fear and anger in her voice.

"….Well Gojo? You know what it'll take for me to call them off…I'll ask you one more time…WHAT'S IT GOING TO BE!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
