What if Kopa never returned?

I hadn't seen any TLK 3 stories yet for 's contest yet, so I decided to do one with a theme I would like to see.
I decided to make it rain and have clouds in the background to add to the emotion of the piece.
And now...it's story time!

The Madness of Wivu

As Wivu's madness got worse, Scar's spirit completely claimed his body. He was no longer in control of himself, and to seal the possession once and for all, the reborn "Scar" struck Hai with his paw crushing his head on the rock killing him instantly. The insane lion smirked as he looked down at his handiwork. Then he turned to the others of the pride.

"Does anyone else wish to challenge me?" He growled, and the rest of the pride backed away. "Good." He looked at Haki straight in the eye. "Now you will do as I say my son, and marry Safi."

Haki was angered now, he saw Safi's cousin die there to try and stop Wivu from forcing this entire thing. "I am already mated to Sheintani father, and she carries my cubs. I cannot abandon her, even if you must kill me now I will not betray her."

"Oh will you now?" He smirked. "I have no interest in killing you my son, I only want what's best for you. If Sheintani and her unborn cub is all that's keeping you from marrying Safi, then I will kill her myself. It's up to you Haki, divorce her and denounce all claim to the cub she carries and marry Safi, or watch her die. What's it going to be?"

Haki looked at Sheintani, his eyes filled with tears. He looked her in the eyes and they embraced each other for a brief moment. "I am sorry Sheintani...I must do this to protect you and our unborn..."

"I understand Haki..." She said painfully. "I love you..."

"And I love you..."

And with that Sheintani walked away from Pride rock and Wivu turned to look at his son. "You did the right thing boy." He smirked, his eyes glowing green like embers, his facade more and more changed and twisted to that of Scar's. "You and Safi will marry at sunrise tomorrow morning. You'd better not be late."

"Yes father." He said sadly.

That morning, Sheintani gave birth to a single cub alone in the grass. She didn't attend the ceremony, too heart broken to come near pride rock now. As she licked her cub dry she named her Walipa, for she decided the cub deserved a new reward in another pride. As soon as she had the strength, she would take leave of the pridelands forever.

As everyone gathered, no one dared to question Wivu's story of how Hai tried to usurp the throne. He claimed that the spirit of his ancestor Scar lived on in his descendent, and it was all he could do to defend himself against him. Kiara, Simba and Nala trusted Wivu's word, even if the rest of the pride was now weary. If word got out, who else would fall victim to him? And as Kiara's councellor he took great pride in proforming the ceremony himself, no one knowing that it was he who was possessed by Scar, and not the now deceased Hai. Clouds started to collect in the sky, as nature's way of foreshadowing the bleak future that lay ahead for the young lion couple.

As the ceremony took place, it was tears of sorrow that Haki shed, not tears of joy that are normally shed at weddings. As it started to rain, it seemed the great Kings would join Haki and Sheintani in their sorrow.

So as a heads up, Gemini's character Wivu is possessed by the spirit of Scar, and he's obsessed with the idea of his son being King. So he drove out Kopa, who Kiara and Kovu named after Kiara's brother who had disappeared (he was assumed dead, but he later returns as well) leaving his younger sister Safi as next of kin. Now he desires that his son Haki marry her in order to become King so his family will have a position of power. He's already worked his way up to being the King's councilor, but that was never enough.
In the original, Wivu would not have thought of killing, but being possessed by Scar changed him, and I decided to include that if he actually DID kill, Scar's soul would be locked in his body forever, because murder is a terrible and unforgivable sin so I think it would tear at Wivu's soul and make him lose control over his body.
